(OOC: I miscalculated and started dealing for game 2 with only four players, giving us six. Murphy, you are in our game, so start tagging in this thread! I have everybody's hands dealt out and written down- so IM me to know what you got and also to do your trading round. I'll assume Godot deals.)
"Cards are fifty percent luck and fifty percent intellect-- something like life in general, I'd say," Godot quipped as Murphy and the others joined the table. He was feeling rather sharp at the moment. "Wright, I hope you don't mind if I deal."
Five cards went out to all six players and Godot set the remnants of the deck down to have a look at his own cards. A careful glance could have seen the smile on his face falter for just a moment as he came to the sudden realization that he couldn't read well over half the cards.
Red suits- how could he have forgotten about the red suits?! Three totally blank cards, a five of spades and what he could only tell was a Jack because of the dark detailing on the portrait. Shit.
Wordlessly, in an attempt to save face he kept the two cards he could read and shoved the others into a discard pile, drawing three more.
He couldn't help the little swell of happiness at how many people were filling the table - there was even another game starting up a ways down. Everyone was relaxed and (mostly) smiling. Maybe Apollo had been on to something after all - this had been a good idea.
It wasn't until Armando had gotten a hold of the cards and was dealing them out that he actually looked up - and saw Iris. He had been working all afternoon on keeping a decent poker face, but he couldn't help his smile... or the way his brows drew together in sudden panic after realizing just who was sitting with him. He tried (and, he figured, probably failed) to signal to Iris to find somewhere to sit that wouldn't draw too much attention to herself; Armando had asked him to get some information, sure, but he didn't exactly know just how well Phoenix knew this particular twin.
He took a breath to steady himself as he gathered his cards together; a good plan, judging from the way his cards dropped rocks into his stomach. He was able to fight a grimace - barely, but well enough. He did his best not to hesitate, and traded in four cards. (Just like court alright.)
House recieved his cards and glanced at them briefly before trading two. He stealthily watched the other player's faces and body language. By doing this he could usually tell what everyone had in their hands.
