Characters: Ty Lee, DaisBeat Content: Ty Lee and Beat meet up for fun and end up punching crabs in the face. Location: Madison Square Garden and nearby areas Time of day: Early afternoon Warnings: Stupidity and crabs.
Even if it was safe in that Mandensen Square place, it was boring as hell. It was so damn crowded there wasn't much space to move around, and Beat always got restless when he didn't have any room to go exert some of that boundless energy. So when the chance came to head out and find something to do with that cute Ty Lee girl, there was no way he'd turn it down.
He had the good sense to step into a bathroom to freshen up before meeting up with her. One hand ran under the sink, then smoothed his unruly blond hair into a somewhat more manageable look before yanking his hat on as usual. Then he grabbed his skateboard and headed out the double doors and into the empty Manhattan streets, where he proceeded to grind down the stairs out front and then idly ride around in a circle until she showed up.
Oh, that had to be him. With that weird board with wheels. Must be a skateboard. Why was it called skating? People did that with blades, not wheels. Oh well, whatever! She watched him for a little bit longer before deciding to make her entrance.
And of course, it couldn't just be anything normal. She scrabbled down to the bottom floor of the fire escape, then jumped off in his direction with a huge grin on her face the whole time. "Look out below!" she yelled just before she landed (you know, well after it would have done any good), tucked, rolled, and shot straight to her feet, proudly presenting herself to her new friend.
"BWAAAAAAH" echoed across the block and Beat jumped nearly three feet in the air. It wasn't that he was jumpy, far from it. He saw that coming, of course. He just hadn't expected her to be so... uh...
"YO," he muttered with a sigh of relief. "I thought you was one'a them crabs, yo!" He craned his head back to look up at the fire escape far, far above them. "So you Ty Lee, huh? Good to meetcha. Man, that was tight! T'chyoo learn t' do that inna circus or somethin'?"
If he reacted like that to the tame stuff, imagine what would happen if she really got the jump on him! She'd have to find out. "Really? But I'm too adorable to be a crab." His reaction had already lifted her spirits, but she just had to giggle at that. "Yep! My friends in the circus taught me everything I know!"
But there were still some things she didn't know. "I saw you riding down the stairs. That looked hard!" She gave his deck a baffled look. "How long have you been skateboarding?"
