Dahlia wore her red hair back in a single braid that day as she made her way home from picking up her weekly ration. The package hung off her arm limply as she quickly shuffled through the deserted streets. With the colder weather, the young murderess had opted for a skin tight, pink turtleneck and a pair of skinny jeans she'd found and added to her wardrobe. Her red heels clicked against the concrete as she tried to ignore the skittering behind her. She hated that sound... and all she carried in her empty hand was an old mop that would have to be her protection that day...
She dared to glance over her shoulder only to see several crabs skittering her way, clicking at her and picking up their speed just as she broke into a run. Her heel caught in a crack in the sidewalk and she fell down with a scream, twisting her ankle. This was enough time down for the crabs to catch up, and several of them reached her now. Clawing and scratching at the fallen woman, whose luck was just getting worse and worse. She managed to bat away a few of them, whacking at them with her mop before one of them sank its teeth into her thigh.
An ear piercing scream cut through the air as the monster's teeth sank into her leg. Sobbing, she weakly attempted to bat away this monster but was finding that her resistance was futile. It had tasted her flesh... and it wanted more.
