Fred stepped out from the alley he had wandered into during today's stroll. He hadn't expected to see anyone else, but there, in the middle of the street, stood a girl. She was alone, apparently talking to herself. Fred liked her already.
He paused before he spoke again, trying to tell if she was upset with him for jumping in.
"Ah, forgive me for eavesdropping. But I'm curious, what was it like?"
Reply
"Oh, it's not a problem." At least, not a big one at this point, she was used to having V appearing out of nowhere at random times. "It was chaotic, to say that much." She replied when he asked about London.
"But I get the feeling that my London is different than yours." That's what she had been gathering by talking to other people.
Reply
"I don't exactly have a London. I've only heard of the place once or twice. Was it a city like this?" He finally broke his gaze with her hair, letting his eyes wander to the tall buildings surrounding them. He was still amazed by the skyscrapers, after living in such a small town for all his life.
Reply
"It was a big city, but there weren't as many skyscrapers, and the buildings were old, historic buildings." Norsefire hadn't done anything to change that, keeping London just like it was before they had taken power. The less the people had known, the better, as it were.

I could fix that...you wouldn't have to worry about your hair anymore.
He silently laughed again, then realized he had been staring for longer than he had meant.
"I believe this section is my favorite, though. It looks like it was marvelous, back in its day."
Reply
"Oh, I believe it was. I had only seen postcards before now." She sighed and looked back towards the buildings. "I wish I could have seen it before everything happened."
Reply
He looked up at the buildings as well, imagining them lit up, with thousands of people buzzing around beneath them.
"Yes, it would have been amazing to see the city before...all of this."
Reply
"It would have." She agreed with him. She didn't think that any of the pictures she had seen could have done this area any justice.
Reply
"Oh, I never introduced myself, did I? My name is Fred." He was beginning to sound like a broken record, but it had become his default phrase whenever a conversation seemed to be slowing down.
Reply
"My name is Evey. It's very nice to meet you Fred." She replied, realizing she hadn't introduced herself before. "I apologize for not introducing myself before."
Reply
"Evey." Fred repeated slowly. "A pretty name. And don't fret about introducing yourself. I did surprise you, after all."
Reply
"Besides, who doesn't want a bit of excitement in their lives?"
Reply
"Ah, yes. I wish I had been there longer, the asylum was much less fun..."
Reply
"...The asylum...?" She asked, a bit of hesitance in her voice was apparent, and she wished that is hadn't been.
Reply
"Yes, my home for the last many years. A lonely place it was, though my room was quite comfortable...so soft." He replied, as if he was talking about something as average as going to the store.
