This is the fourth week of January, 2009.
During Week 29...
Characters with bites leftover from the underground incident are still stricken with strange comatose, and should be healed as quickly as possible. The citizens of Manhattan are grateful for peace and quiet after the scare in the underground last week. Unfortunately, this is Manhattan, and nothing can stay quiet for too long.
On Wednesday (March 7-8 in real time), the smaller Cloverfield monster reappears from the depths of the water off the eastern short and takes a trip into the city. It crosses the southern tip of the island, utterly destroying what remains of New York University. It continues across and dives into the water on the other side of the island. Miraculously, nobody is hurt in this incident, though the laboratories and greenhouses at NYU are a total loss.
The next day (March 9-10 in real time), visitors to Rockefeller Plaza will stumble on a pleasant find-- another mysterious shipment of crates. The crates are full of fresh food and supplies and the supply center will begin distributing the goods in the ration kits immediately.
It's a typical New York January, icy and cold all week long. It snows both early and late in the week, accumulating five inches by the end of the week. The temperature never rises above 40.
