::daisychain week twenty-three::
I moved to New York City for my health. I'm paranoid and New York was the only place where my fears were justified.

Welcome to the second week of December, 2008.
During Week 23…
Hold on to your horses, Manhattanites...it looks to be a dark week in New York.
Sunday has vanished off the calendar, once again. Every character goes to sleep on Saturday night, only to wake up again with all electronic clocks and calendars listing the date as Monday morning. No one has any memory of Sunday occurring, and while powers are still in tact, everyone feels slightly disoriented.
But there are far worse effects.
It seems during that missing day some things have gone missing: namely, ALL of the food from the working supply centers, and most of the water. There's no more food to be rationed out at all. The only food left available is whatever's left inside apartments and hotel kitchens: in other words, what rations people already have in their homes. There's just enough bottled water left to last for about two days.
Something else has gone missing, too. Manhattanites may wake up pretty cold: someone or something has shut off all the gas and water pressure throughout the entire city. There's no heat, and there's no running water to be found in any building in all of New York. Electricity is still working, so characters can use lights and the computers, but otherwise it's cold and there's no running water. Looks like it's time to start bundling up and skipping showers.
The weather this week remains frigid cold, although the temperature evens out enough that all of the freezing rain turns into snow, and Manhattan receives its first blizzard. In a couple of days, the entire city is covered in a blanket of white. Without snowplows, salt or constant foot traffic, it's going to be very difficult to get around. At the very least, all the newfound snow can be brought inside and melted to help supplement the sudden lack of water.
Another good thing about the snow is that it seems to have slowed down the parasite crabs. However, that doesn't stop them from getting a new slew of bites into the population. Alexander, Sasuke, Larxene, Velvet, Agent Spin, Phoenix Wright and Casey Novak are all bitten this week. Be sure to check the Monster FAQ or poke the mods with any questions.
Nights in the city are very long by now; it's usually dark by 5:00 in the afternoon. There's a full moon on Friday of this week.
Graffiti
It's too cold and difficult to get around for the taggers...there's no new graffiti this week.
