THIS IS AN UNANNOUNCED GAMEWIDE EVENT
All players should read this post carefully, as it affects every character in the game.
On Sunday of this week, a small team of volunteers left a trap for Big Mommy by collecting all of the dead fish in the waters around where the U.S.S. Intrepid sank. The pile of dead fish was then poisoned by Axel and Marluxia, who created a strong toxin based off of Dahlia Hawthorne's poison. The poisoned fish were left by the water's edge for Cloverfield to find. On Wednesday morning, Big Mommy did indeed find the bait and gobbled up the entire batch.
The poisoning attempt was a success.
Moments after consuming all the fish, Big Mommy began to bellow and thrash from pain. Her death throes lasted for almost fifteen minutes, where she smashed up some of the docks and darted in and out of the river multiple times, but did not take off on a rampage. Her roaring and screeching could be heard for miles around. During her thrashing, every last one of the crab parasites clinging to her back jumped off and scattered into the city. After fifteen minutes of running in circles, Cloverfield gave one final roar heard across the entire city before falling over dead.
The dead body of Cloverfield is currently lying on the western shore, on the far southern end of the island. There are no parasite crabs in the vicinity of the body.
There will be an open thread posted were any and all characters can come and investigate the body. The thread will be treated the same as all large gathering events, and your characters are welcome to come and see what they can discover from the monster now that it's dead.
PLEASE NOTE: If any of your characters are going to immediately try and cross the river, you must speak to the mods first about what you should be expecting! Keep in mind that your characters cannot instantly get off the island via the river. Most of the boats along the coast have already been destroyed, and those that are remaining lack any fuel. Constructing a raft will take a couple of days at best. For questions about escaping the island or any other inquiries about the plot, as always, please IM or email the mods!
