I signed Rachael up for two summer camps. One, starting 7/21, is a drama camp where they act out stories and create art to go along with it. The other starts on 8/11 and is a "weebotics" class where she'll build robots with Legos, learn to use motors and sensors, and using computers. I figured that I should put my money where my mouth is and get her involved in STEM to keep her well rounded and provide a foundation on which to conceivably build a career later.
....she asked me if she could build a princess robot. Baby steps.
Zoë is signed up for ballet and swimming. Fortunately, there was still a Saturday preschooler and me class open, so Mike will be able to take her. Class was just too hard on me. The water temperature was pretty good, but it was really chilly once you weren't fully submerged. That, plus the work of helping her swim just wrecked me for the rest of the day.
Zoë wanted to take gymnastics just like Rachael, but there's a lot of standing in line and waiting patiently involved. That is not Zoë's forte. I figured a dance class would get her energy out and actually teach her a skill.
As for me, they FINALLY have a gentle yoga class available at a time that is feasible for me. Unless I get sitting, I can't go during the day right now. (That'll change when she goes to preschool. Yay!) The only other times were at 7:30 pm and the class was 90 minutes, (and I'd have to go over to Greenbriar) or 7:50 am on Saturday mornings. Seriously? Someone with chronic fatigue having to get up that early with a really good reason? I tried before and didn't go. Granted, I missed the first few classes because of a stomach bug and then Zoë's birthday. But after that, I just had no will to make it happen. So hopefully this will work out.
