LOL. I was mostly agreeing with Elf on a Shelf, Kid's sports and Pinterest taking things too far. I don't care what people do for parties. I get a lot of crap from people for not doing parties. My kids have never had a birthday party. They are too expensive and we'd rather spend that money on their presents and have them get what they want, but we enjoy going to other people's parties.

I think it's the introvert in me. Having a birthday party is outside of my comfort zone, big time. It doesn't mean I won't ever do it, but I'm thinking have a sleepover with friends and eat pizza and make cookies kind of a party, when they are older. Also, since Ben and Abby's birthday's are so close, it would be expensive, but it would also prove that Abby has more friends than Ben and I'm not into making him feel inadequate.

Then again I didn't have birthday parties growing up, so maybe I'm just a natural party pooper. ;)

So, now you sent the link, that post was definitely not a last minute write up, she's been planning that post. So strange coincidence indeed. Especially since it's not on her blog, then she was hired to write that post or submitted it a while back or something like that since it was a guest post on a different blog.
