Grand Prix Series Recap
Early update because I'm not sure I'll be around tomorrow.
Skate Canada
SP score: 84.66 + FS score: 153.21 = Total: 237.87 - 3rd place
This was the first competition of the Grand Prix series and already Daisuke's SP score was higher than his Season's Best of 83.49 last season!
NHK (oh, the glory that was NHK)
SP score: 90.43 - new personal best! + FS: 169.32 = Total: 259.75 - 1st place
NHK was also where Daisuke landed a quad flip - only in the warm-up, unfortunately (we had video, but it was removed from youtube :/).
Well, the Grand Prix Final was quite the rollercoaster ride. In the short program, Daisuke tried a quad toe (two-footed and under rotated) and missed his combo. His SP score was 76.49, which put him in 5th and made us all cry tears of blood.
As for the FS, our lovely mod, Ms. unimagine, already posted a video here, but since I really have no words to describe how amazing it was, I will let the British Eurosport guys express my ~feelings for me (and I bet they're your feelings too).
With that, Daisuke won the free skate *cough* scored 172.63, reached a total of 249.12, and became the 2011 GPF platinum medalist.
