Big hearts to everyone who sent kissy kisses and chocolate heads. I assume this is something to do with farewelling HP? Some big fandom drive I've missed?
Whatever the reason, you guys really brightened my day whenever one arrived. It was a strange and rather rough couple of weeks too, so the v-gifts were much appreciated.
In the last couple of weeks I've managed, amongst other things, to swallow glass shards, walk through stinging nettle, nearly cripple myself by overdoing gym and pilates on the same day, had a migraine, and a massively horrific surround-sound, smell-o-vision nightmare about being trapped in the path of an oncoming earthquake and tidal wave of mud. I think there may still be some underlying anxieties about Christchurch, y/y?
However I also managed, amongst other things, to make huge progress on the charity fics (which, I'm sorry the winning bidders have had to languish so long waiting for them), finalise the programme for the Writercon UK 2011 Event, conquer some major panic attacks about escalators (just... it's just one of those things, okay?), have a lovely day out with friends for
Valoki's birthday, see DH2 tonight (yes, I cried), and organise membership transference so one of my betas can be at
diacon-alley!
Yes, this week we're off to
Daicon Alley! I am so excited my excitement is turning to nerves, which is showing up as lots of rushing around not focussing on anything and getting nothing finished. I have costumes! One of which is still not finished! Ack! I have booked accommodation. But realised on Sunday not for the Wednesday night when I also need to be there! Double Ack! (Fixed now.)
It's going to be great seeing everyone there. If you haven't booked yet but can make the days, or even just the weekend, they're still taking on the door sales for memberships.
And of course, not long after that I'll be at the
writerconuk! Which is a really fun, informal, bijou affair for anyone involved in the creative side of fandom. Do you write? Come along! Do you art? Come along! (Look! I verbed a noun!) Do you costume? Come along! Do you beta? Come along! (Seriously. Come along if you beta. I'm verbing nouns. Obviously I need your help.)
Better go. So much to do! So little time! Too many exclamation points! To do! Too-do! Toodleoo!
