I've never seen sunken bread from my breadmaker, but the first loaf I made in it was inedible due to my misreading of the recipe (I bunged in a tablespoon of salt instead of a teaspoon). *g*
Actually, the first one I got wouldn't *heat*, I exchanged it for a second one that wouldn't *knead* and the third one I gave up on exchanging, it would produce doorstops. :^)
I now have a good one, but my local store only has expired yeast. I'll have to order some over the internet once I figure out where. :^)
Never heard of expired yeast (but bear in mind that bunging the ingredients in a breadmaker is about the sum of my culinary skills) and just use fast action yeast as per the instructions. I would have thought you would be able to order some of that online if your local store can't source it for you. Would be a shame to be without nice fresh bread. *g*
Thanks! They were made especially to eat while watching the show. Eventually, by request, there were also gold, sliver, and purple versions. Unfortunately I seem to have lost the photos of them.

It's been so hot for months I haven't really wanted to bake, but it should cool off by November. :^)
