Earlier this year (or was it late last year?), I came over all enthused about gardening again (I do these things from time to time), and prepped and planted a bunch of wildflower seeds.
Sadly no flowers appeared. There is only the wild.
I mention this as I am off to the Chelsea (flower show, not pensioners or football club) next week, and will no doubt once again return like an overexcited puppy full of the joys of spring and chasing butterflies and sniffing flowers and such, and completely forget that I am total crap at gardening.
This is a reminder to self. Do not buy more plants. They will only die. And it will be like all those other love affairs you had where you fell in love with the idea of the love more than was in love itself and you had to let the love go and then everyone involved was much more miserable than they would have been in the first place if you had just been firm with yourself and said 'No, I cannot for I do not love you' in the first place.
The plants. They will break your heart.
