Cooler weather is here, just like that. I'm wearing a sweater at the moment and loving it. Fall's the best, man. Football, leaves changing, apples and long pants. What's not to love?
Doob had his very first soccer game yesterday. It was an exercise in frustration, really. I think I overdid the sideline cheering/coaching and am determined not to tell him what to do next week. It's hard, though. He has NO idea what to do and very little interest in actually playing soccer. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to spoil the fun for him, and who cares if they got beat 10 - 3, and if he doesn't care about who wins then neither should I but, GRRRRR. It's just so hard to watch him standing around scratching himself and not be like "The ball! The ball! Go get the ball! Over there! Kick it! Kick it! Kick the ball!"
A video, for your viewing pleasure. Doob's all in blue. He's the one who keeps looking at the camera and jogging half-heartedly around the field.

You'll notice I am saying nothing about the Michigan football season this year. *sigh*
Today we went on an awesome hike. You can see the different colors of the rocks and boulders as we went along the path. The weather was ideal for it -- just enough bite to the air that I wasn't overheated on the walk. The helpful signs along the path taught us about the different rock layers that had been thrust up along a fault line, creating the varied landscape you can see in these pics.
After an hour of walking, we turned around a bend and came across this, which rocked. I love encounters with nature!

Now Geneva is sleeping and I'm trying to get our photos online. We switched to Flickr when Yahoo Photos went goodbye, and I might be regretting it, especially since most our family members are on Shutterfly. Meh. Okay, off to do something about dinner.
