Hello! I am in Ireland! :D
Today we had a lovely breakfast here at Tudor Lodge. (Every day's post is going to start that way, if I begin at the beginning, I'm afraid.) They have an oatmeal-equivalent, which is very good, and tomorrow, I'll remember to ask for extra eggs and no meat. Today, Lynn got lucky and had extra meat. ;)
After breakfast, we went for a very nice hike. We managed about six miles of the Wicklow Way, and saw the ruins of St. Saviour's Church, as well as a monastic ruin a little further on. Both were very charming, though the monastery was swarming with people who'd arrived via bus tour. (We had the tiny church entirely to ourselves.)
There is LOTS of clover and heather and a pink, bell-shaped flower I can't name. And greens and greens and greens - every shade of green you can conceive! Many of the trees are ancient and knarled. Very beautiful.
My favorite parts of the walk, though, were the times we came across unexpected waterfalls. There were several, some more impressive than others. Twice we climbed up a muddy embankment to find the best pictures of waterfalls high above us. Someone assure my trainer that I'm getting my cardio, yeah? Lol! I'm sore from the hike, for certain.
