I just read this, and I am horrified.

I intended to read this. I really did. But when it got to the part where you rolled your eyes because in a military situation, a soldier called her commanding officer, "Sir," I knew that there would be little I could enjoy within the rest of your thoughts. I'm disappointed. I was hoping for something really thought-provoking and enjoyable to read, even if I couldn't agree with you.

As to Kaylee and the duct tape comment? Mal was teasing her. At this point, you're just searching for insults to women. That's called flirting. Men do it when they LIKE girls, not when they fail to respect them.

Then you come to Inara. Somehow, you have got it into your head that she is being raped by an evil man, when the reality is that she chooses to make her body available to only the men she feels she will enjoy having sex with, and she charges them exorbitant amounts of money - for something most women give away free.

I have to admit, at this point I became so discouraged with your narrow-minded view of the characterizations that I almost quit reading entirely, but as I was skimming, I noticed your personal attack on Wheadon. I find it horrifying that you ventured to speculate on how he treats his wife based upon your colored view of the FICTION he writes! Astounding.

As a woman of strong personality, I'm ashamed that you've written this, and sad that people seem to be reading it. Perhaps you think you are a representative of women everywhere, but I assure you that you are not.

Also, I am sure that happy cross-cultural married people everywhere would be mortified by your thoughts on their relationships as well.

Lastly, I don't expect that you will unscreen this comment. I am content that you will read it, and will not be the least bit perturbed if you simply delete it as I expect you will.
