So Joe invited me to a gala on the roof of the Koch Foundation Thursday night.
Great times! The place is on 15th and G (or perhaps F) right near the Treasury Building. The views were incredible! You could practically see in the White House windows! I could make out the National Cathedral, the Airforce Memorial, Rosslyn, Clarendon, Virginia Square, and even Ballston across the Potomac. The Monument was beautiful and the sky was all different shades of a soothing dark purple because of light pollution and a few docile clouds.
The company was great. All cool libertarian types..and there was an open bar...good times. I felt so bourgeois as the waiters came over and refilled my wine glass as I made witty (or not so witty) conversation with Koch Fellows and Cato types. I'm starting to grow fond of these libertarians. They've never done me dirty, and they're so smart and nice. A great deal of them are quite handsome as well. Overall, they are a winning bunch!
After the rooftop affair, a few people went to Kelly's Irish Times near Union Station. It was there that I (quite sadly) got terribly drunk. I was still nursing the hangover... at Lambda!
