Well hello there, handsome. :)

He reminds me of Leslie Howard.

I think I have only seen Leslie Howard in Gone With the Wind, but you're right, there is something similar. Especially in the hair!

I think that's why he looks so at home in period films like The Deep Blue Sea and Midnight in Paris. He just has that look, where as other actors, like Brad Pitt, just don't seem to fit.

That's a good way to describe his look. He really does channel a classic good looking Hollywood star. I don't think I ever seen him wear a bad suit. Everything he wears is really suited for him. He knows how to look good!

I also like his hair on this day and that bit of beard he had going.

He was born to wear a suit. And his hair that day was perfectly coiffed in the front, with just the right amount of length and curl. :) I wonder if he has a stylist?

Tom definitely has the classic looks and the cut glass accent to match.

He's always reminded me a little of David Niven (when he was young) and not so much physically/ resemblance but just his lovely personality and impecable manners. David Niven always dressed beautifully too.

In fact they should remake a 'Matter of Life and Death' and cast Tom - then I could cry through the whole film rather than just the last 15 minutes .

I had to google David Niven. He looks familiar, but I can't think of anything I have seen him in. I loved Tom in Midnight in Paris, and would love to see him do more period pieces.

Unfortunately I am so old that I do remember David Niven. He was popular Hollywood actor in the 30's & 40's and considered to the be 'The Last English Gentleman of Hollywood ' so there's an opening for Tom if Colin Firth wants to move over a bit. My favourite Niven role he played a WWII pilot and I can just see Tom doing that - especially with his other period roles.

And I suddenly find myself needing more Tom icons of his other films...
