Summary: A sweet tooth for rhyme.
One thing that hadn’t changed since becoming a vampire or losing your father, the appearance of popsicles inside Liz Forbes’ freezer-joy enveloped Caroline’s senses, knowing she was going to feel like a kid again. Her hands ripped open the box of newly bought popsicles and pulled out the first cherry flavored one she found. She threw the wrapper into the garbage can and went out to their front porch to enjoy herself.
While she was sucking on her treat, she spotted Klaus walking up her front walk. His grin grew wider when he saw her. He laughed, “You enjoying yourself, Caroline.”
Even Klaus couldn’t spoil her joy in her moment, she smiled and said, “Well, I was. Thank you.”
With another mischievous grin, Klaus winked at Caroline as she continued to suck on her cherry treat. He folded a piece of paper and placed it inside her free hand. Afterwards, he left without another word.
She watched him leave and disappear in a vampire flash before she opened the note. It read as followed:
Roses are red,
Violets are tolerable,
You my dear
are simply incorrigible.
Looking back to where he had disappeared, she finished her popsicle smiling bright.
