Summary: After being Lucifer's vessel, Sam goes insane.
“Dean, look,” Sam says excitedly, smearing his bloody hands across the belly of his shirt. The fabric is already stained through, Dean realizes; a frightening collage of red against blue.
Dean is at his side in a second. “Sammy? What's wrong?” he asks. “Where are you hurt?”
“'M not hurt. Look,” he insists, cupping Dean's face with his big, sticky palms; forces Dean to look at the mess along his front. “It's pretty. So pretty, pretty, pretty.” He giggles and it's a broken sound, not like anything Dean's ever heard from his baby brother. “Like a picture.”
“Sam,” Dean says desperately. “Whose blood is that?”
“Shh.” Sam presses a finger to Dean's lips, leaves a smear of red behind, and licks it away a second later. Sam's eyes are wild when Dean looks into them, searches for any sign of the man Sam had been before Lucifer entered his body and broke his mind. Nothing but madness stares back at Dean and he feels his heart weigh down his chest with the realization that his Sam was gone.
"Come back, Sammy," Dean whispers against Sam's lips, a hot tear mingling on their joined skin. "Come back."
