Hi friends! Apologies for the unexpected and unannounced hiatus the last few weeks! Due to an unanticipated convergence of irl stuff for the mods, I have become the only currently active editor for the Daily Snitch as of this edition. This means for the time being, posting may be only once per week; I'll be trying out once weekly and twice weekly to see what is most manageable. That said, I'd love to have some new pals join me in editing this newsletter, so I'm looking for 1-2 more editors to do one edition per week each. Entries for the editions are collected with the Google Reader Feedly, so you don't have to know HP fandom inside out to be an editor. Putting together one edition takes about one hour, a bit longer in the beginning. If you might be interested in joining me, or want more info about what it entails, please email dailysnitch AT gmail DOT com.
This edition is huge and it will surely be missing things that have happened in fandom in the last weeks since we posted. If I missed something you really want to see in the Daily Snitch, please email it in for the next one :) We always welcome folks to send in recs, meta, and other items of interest, and I make that call more enthusiastically than ever, particularly if the content you are reccing centres BIPOC, two-spirit, trans, non-binary, or intersex characters, or the meta deals with race/racism in fandom/critical fandom discourse. Thank you!

Mechanics of Emotion for
hpwlwbigbang, with artworks by
tonftyhw and
ravenclawkward-art. This Padma/Hermione fic--told from Padma's POV--and the accompaying art are together an emotional tour de force that explore themes of pressure, and the intense feelings of failure and lack of connection even when someone wants to succeed and connect so desperately. I have never encountered a Padma-centric fic this long and I want to reread it over and over for her tense, inseure getting together situation with Hermione, her blossoming sororal relationship with Parvati, and for her best attempts at adulting in spite of all of her hang ups <3
