I've always thought those shots at the Shrine were gorgeous.

I love that whole episode, but I've never seen a still shot like this. It's so striking!

Just finished watching that episode! Don't ask me how many times I've watched it since I've lost count. Can you guess it's one of my favs ;-)

Mine too. I've probably watched that and Vegas more than any, with the possible exception of Echoes. The Shrine is definitely in my top 5.

I love that it looks so instinctive. He's not even looking at Rodney in the picture - he's just got a steadying hand out. I think that says so much about John and how he feels toward his team.

That is EXACTLY why I chose a shot from this scene! When you watch this, he glances down, almost anticipating, and gets that hand out while still keeping watch over everyone in his charge. Instinctive is the perfect word.

It's making me have all sorts of mushy feelings - about the show, John, Rodney, the team, and so on.

I know... everyone involved was just so damn good at what they were doing. If it had been a crap show, that's one thing, but to have it ripped away from you like a tiny piece of your heart... that's a whole 'nother ball game.

Gah, now I've made myself weepy.

There are so many subtleties in this episode and this scene showcases John's strength and protectiveness.
