Christmas Eve is here amazingly. For the second year in a row, I've successfully managed to finish my knit gift list, although this year was under different circumstances. Last year I made items for just about every person for whom I bought a gift. This year, I made very little. Am I sad about this? Not really. Do I wish I'd done more? Sure, it would have been nice. In the end though I know I did the best I could this year.
Christmas Gift Knit List 2008:
1] Toddler Tunic for Elena
Pattern:
Toddler Tunic by Staci Perry
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in lake colorway
Notes: Due to this being made with a cotton/acrylic blend I decided to make it short sleeved instead of long sleeved. I really enjoyed this pattern and think it came out very well. Am crossing my fingers it fits Elena.
2 and 3] Mossy Scarves for Kristen my RA and Kiersten
Pattern: Mossy Scarf from Speed Knitting
Yarn: JoAnn Sensations Tesoro in purple
Notes: Yarn is held double throughout instead of triple. The yarn is so squishy and warm which made it very hard to give this away. :P For Kiersten's, I cast on 10 stitches to make it thinner then went until I ran out of yarn so the scarf would be child-sized.
4] Diagonal Lace Scarf for Mary
Pattern:
Diagonal Lace Scarf by Helena Frank
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease in navy colorway
Notes: Very simple lace pattern to follow. Mary says she won't open until tomorrow, so we'll see what she thinks then.
5) Cranberry Socks for Eve
Pattern: Cozy House Socks from One Skein Wonders
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease in cranberry colorway
Notes: Eve wrote me on AIM thanking me for her socks, then proceeded to tell me how they were her favorite color, so warm, and they looked store-bought. (her words, not mine there).
6] Hand Towel and Washcloth for Ms. Cindy
Pattern: Moss Grid Hand towel from Mason-Dixon Knitting
Yarn: Lily Sugar and Cream in cornflower blue
Notes: Made a matching washcloth to go with the hand towel.

7] Vikings Lap Blanket for Aunt Becky -- My aunt bought tickets to next week's Minn. Vikings game as a 50th birthday present for her husband. I had some purple and white yarn, so thought to make her a gathered lap blanket to wear to the game. She seemed pretty happy with it, calling it very pretty. And now she has something purple and white to go with her gold coat - a must for the game she said. lol
There you have it. For those of you feeling as though you've seen many of those before, many of these projects have been shown previously. At any rate, it's now time to enjoy the holidays and perhaps consider what to make next year...
