At long last, pictures of my cousin's wedding shawl.
I knew right away that I wanted to make something for my cousin's wedding - it was only a matter of what. That part didn't take long; a shawl seemed practical and something that could be made lovely enough for a blushing bride to wear.
Finding a pattern turned into a bit of a challenge. I had bought four skeins of Reynolds Mandalay in an off white/cream color from Ravelry, which turned out to total 392 yards (98 yards per skein) - a good amount, but not much to work with when making a shawl.
I played around with a few ideas, finally choosing
Cozy
from Knitty.com. Next came experimenting with what size needles to use. My goal was something drappy but not too loose for the yarn. Again, after playing around with a few options, I went with US size 10.5, then cast on about half the amount of stitches from the pattern.
Volla! A pretty twead silk shawl that I'm hoping my cousin will enjoy.
Now, time for washcloth knitting again.
