Something I've found in the last week or so is that blogging about blankets is a little difficult. Not that one can't blog about blankets, of course. I just don't know how interested ya'll would be at hearing me speak about them. Plus, I don't want to ruin anything for my fellow
Homespun Helpers contest participants.
So now here it is the final week of April and I've got nothing to say about my current WIPs. One blanket is being worked on as we speak; a little peach number I've dubbed the Patchwork Blanket. The other blanket is waiting for me to sew its pieces together. Beyond that, I don't know what the future will hold. I don't think I'll be able to finish another blanket in time for the contest, so we'll have to see how the other teams do and the results.
Beyond the blankets, I haven't worked on much. There's the
diagonal lace scarf which hasn't been touched the last few weeks. Mom's shawl still creates fear into my heart whenever I look upon it, so is resting comfortably in a box. It seems neither of these items will be finished in time for May, which means I have failed at spring cleaning. Drats. I tried hard, though.
As for future projects, I'm thinking of making a
Sunday Market Shawl for my cousin who is getting married later this year (One of the few items where I honestly have no stash yarn yet to make it), and some
Grr washcloths which look absolutely adorable. I'd also like very much to get some more of these Christmas knits finished. Oh, and the
Cozy shawl which I've had the yarn to make with (which I had to brush the dust off of while cleaning out my stash. Yikes.) for over a year now. Not to mention that my other cousin is now expecting, so I'd love to make something for the baby as well if possible.
Which reminds me of something I've been meaning to blog about for quite a few weeks now. The ever-sweet Nicole (
nicknits) sent me these pictures of her daughter wearing her
baby bell bottoms
. You may recall the story of these pants, which I wrote about
here. Looks like they fit her very well.
First up, a back view...
And the front. Striking a pose.
"Who, me? Why yes, I am cute."
Yes, I know. Her cuteness drives the pants to shame. :P
Happy last week of April, everyone!
