Spring Cleaning Time

I hate sewing. I hate, hate, hate sewing of any kind.

Let me be clear before I recieve a bunch of angry comments from sewing enthusiasts; sewing in itself and knitting sewing are two different things. (I believe myself to be the one person on earth who refers to what I'm talking about as 'knitting sewing', so please hold off those comments for two more sentences.) Sewing using a machine, least to me, is something that in my one-time experience I enjoyed. But knitting sewing, the kind where you weave in ends of yarn or sewing pieces of knitted things together, is my least favorite part of any project.

I say this so you may understand where I'm coming from as I post the numbers here. With March closing out, I thought it would be best to set myself some goals for April. My goals usually are pretty loose, nothing do-or-die, but are great guidelines on what I wish to accomplish. I made five for myself; Finish or frog every UFO and WIP in my stash, No yarn purchases, Reorganize stash and needles/supplies,  Finish my Simply Soft stash to send to the contest, and Finish at least one blanket to give to Afghans for Angels. Am happy to say that two have already been accomplished, with another very close. It's just the first one....

See, over at the Knit Stashdown Ravelry group, it was decided that April shall be Spring Cleaning Month. (Original, I know). I knew this was something I needed to do, so I signed up. The last few months, I had basically thrown any finished item into a basket or box, then moved happily along to the next project I wanted to make. There were a few exceptions, as is usually the case in anything. But more often I would just keep avoiding those loose strings of yarn.

Then the first of April came, and suddenly my promise to finish all my UFOs and WIPs came into realization. I went through my entire stash, pulling out every item I found. The end totals are embarrassingly bad. As of April 1, I have:

* 5 projects on the needles
* 39 projects needing yarn ends weaved in
* 2 preemie baby bonnets which needed seamed and ties added
* 1 project which had been hiding out per say, waiting for me to get around to doing something with it
* 4 preemie bonnets needing ties made and attached

*sigh* Better get to work.
