hbs wk2

So another week at hbs is drawing to a close. Still clearly in the meet-and-greet mode and lots of social activities going on like tonight's cruise, but at the same time, the trend is also clearly towards seriously embarking upon studies. Since my crewup with the union last year, I still find it difficult speaking in public. I really pray this problem will go away since this is kind of going to be a problem with much of the grades being dependent on class participation.
Since I had some time to myself, finally got the chance to bring in the packages from SF and get my car. I got to look at the pictures in the 1998-2003 period in San Francisco, and it does seem to have been a LONG time I was there, almost like I lived a lifetime. Weird to feel nostalgic too since I always thought myself to be emotionally tough. Truth is, I guess, I do miss San Francisco, the control I had in the city knowing the people and where things are, the power I felt working at Francisco Partners, and the comfort I felt knowing that $20K flows into my chcking account (well, before tax at least) every month. And most of all, having J around.
So how long does it take for a new place to feel like home? I wonder by the time it feels good to be here, it will be almost time for graduation...wonder where I will end up next. Oops, that's a "we" since it's now going to be J and me together.
