Eurie was telling me about online journals and that reminded me what I was doing this in the first place so here goes another entry after 4 weeks.
Officially heading mid-market buyout practice with Phil; Stanton to spend a portion of his time on this initiative as well. Evaluated 6 deals so far, submitted proposal on one. Project Austern - kindly turned down our offer saying, "we have other people who are willing to pay real money for this company." Oh well. Garfinkel criticized my bid letter for not being salesy enough - he is right (but I hope he realizes I wrote that the night before thanksgiving day; it wasn't even me, it was Phil who wrote it and I who revised it). I gotta always give it my best effort, no burnout.I pray our endeavors in the mid-market arena will be successful.
Project Sky. CEO and CFO officially "offended" by our proposal. Something to remember.
B-schools. Recently having inarticulate/ nervous problem when I'm giving speech/ talk. Almost like a panic attack or something, which is really weird since I never had this until failed negotiations with Aviator labor union. I hope this goes away and I won't even remember about it. For this reason, was very anxious about my Stanford interview. But thanks to H, this didn't impact me at all during the interview. HBS interview on Dec 17th.
J. For some reason having problems lately - it's actually my fault, I get so impatient with her recently. Probably driven by bschool stress and my sister.
Sister. Nuna is staying with me for a month! It's great but definitely causing a bit of strain because I am so not used to living with another person, after having lived by myself for 5 yrs (wow, such a long time) since Stanford. I better get more used to it.
Other. Brought Yvonne along on dinner with Li and J. I hope Li hooks up with her so he can finally have someone who could inspire him to drop drugs and to live vicariously through him. I don't know, maybe she ain't that hot but 20-yr olds are great.
