Who: Inoue Miyako and Motomiya Daisuke
When: Today sometime
Why: you'll see....
Daisuke pulled out his cell phone. He quickly pushed a bunch of buttons, spelling out a phrase.
=Miyako, what's your favourite number?=
There, nice and neat and sent, Daisuke thought to himself.
Now all he had to do was wait for a reply.
motomiya daisuke,
inoue miyako

The bespectacled girl punched the pillow cushioning her back.
*Beep Beep Beep*
"Huh?" She peered around and dug under a massive pile of what used to be post-its.
A text message. Who would- She read the name and her eyebrows jumped up and down in an angry dance.
Miyako typed out her reply.
=15, and why are you bothering me!?=

His cellphone beeped at him, signalling a text. Ah there we go, it was Miyako after all, like he suspected.
He read the curt, short note. His thumb flew across the tiny number pad.
=It was just one question. Gee, chill out, Miyako. Besides, would you rather I call you to ask you?=
Man, she sure seemed high-strung and touchy, mused Daisuke.

=Hello! Studying for most important exams of my life here.=

Daisuke rolled his eyes. He grit his teeth and refrained from answering her. Sometimes...he just wanted to strangle the girl, just a little.
One harmless question and she was all over him! Getting on his case about the weirdest things. He scowled, mood darkening.
Did she expect him to be psychic? To somehow magically know she was studying?

Already sufficiently distracted, she bit her lip and wondered.
It was the day after her exams, White day, and every little bit of sun was shining into her room as she awoke. Pulling back the bedding, she was already magically dressed in a beautifully simple College sweatshirt and jeans.
The doorbell rang, so she ventured out of her study dungeon. As Miyako passed by each of her siblings they greeted her with grins and thumbs up. Her parents smiled proudly, holding her high school diploma in their hands.
She made it to the door and opened it.
Daisuke stood there with - she counted - 15 big boxes of gifts. Her eyes sparkled in delight and Daisuke was pleasantly mute as he lugged all the parcels inside.
Miyako smiled in bliss and she pushed the boy back outside and tore into the presents."...." The purple haired girl decided to ignore that particular day dream and immediately sent off another text message ( ... )

Tell her what I'm planning...Heh, I don't think so! Daisuke snickered to himself and then thought of something better.
Ah, yes, this was going to be perfect! He almost felt like rubbing his hands together gleefully. Quickly, he fired back another response.
=Never mind. What's your favourite fraction?=

What kind of game is this?!
She typed back her answer, wishing the phone had a large keyboard instead of just the touch tone buttons. She'd give him more than a piece of her mine if that were the case.
=1/2, C'mon spill! Or is this how you do your homework?=
Reply
He only had a few days to execute his plans. But now, at least, he had all his information. Daisuke considered ignoring Miyako but figured she'd call if he didn't reply.
=Yeah right, uh huh. My homework always involves my friends' favourite fractions. Not.=

She frowned and snapped shut her textbook then whipped it open again. It was starting to get to her - that was obvious!
To reply or not to reply...Just then Hawkmon cracked open her door peering in with one large blue eye ( ... )
