I had my official first day at Brooks yesterday. I was dead tired. Apparently, what I thought would be an easy day of watching privacy videos and such was in fact completely different. From the start, 8 AM, I was working the cash register. I was told what to do and I did it. Some things are kind of hard to do... such as deleting items, but mainly I did an alright job. I was on my feet for 8 hours. I'll be working on Monday 8-4 just like yesterday. After that I get transferred to the pharmacy. One thing at a time. Register first then upgrade to pharmacy training.
Ok, so the day was pretty normal. There were a few customers that I wondered about though. One example would be the "doggie" lady. This lady comes in and wants a graduation doggie. I say, well there's a dog right here, but other than that all I see are monkeys and bears.
"Well, I want the doggie... I don't want the monkey. They had a cute doggie. A doggie with the cap. I need two doggies..."
....K
After clearing up the doggie portion of the sale, she finally puts all her shit on the counter. This includes tons of candy, a broom brush, a mirror, a doggie, and more candy. The total comes out to about $25. She puts a few bucks and change on the counter and says "How much will that give me?" ......$3.50? Firstly, a dog is $2.99 if she wanted two it would be roughly $6. She could only find one to begin with, so that wasn't a problem. But what can $3.50 get her? Are you telling me I have to delete about 12 items? If you only have a few bucks why are you picking up tons of shit? I cant, I really really can't.
Oh, today I got a chance to meet the singer from the band that Brian is getting into. Seems like a nice guy; I'm glad he's joining a band with some good people. I could go on about how we stood outside Red's for about an hour... but I'm tired now.
