learned a new character last night in my frenzied quest not to go to sleep at all costs. beng! it means "pump," and it's a really cool character with water under a rock, basically. i love it:) I'm slated to interview this gz based band, pump, which was founded by the supposed "granddaddy of rock 'n' roll/punk" in china. all of china, according to a bad english website written by what i can only surmise to be one of his fans. can you believe this?!? i'm really nervous!!!
apologies to all you out there receiving annoying sms's. it was not my intention!!! do sign up for bigzoo, though. and *gasp* i'm posting my number here para ken's polite suggestion. call me and we'll chat!!! warning, though-it's a lot of numbers to punch in. whenever i see bootleg dvds where they mention US numbers, i always think they've cheated me out of a number. 8620.136.5089.5442 (cellie) and 8620.8411.5607 apartment. i just bought tickets today to head to hong kong to see perry for christmas!! i'm so excited:) and so broke. tickets to hong kong are not as cheap as i imagined them to be. damn the rmb!!!
things have been really too crazy lately. i'm never giving this kind of final exam again because it's masochistic. we're interviewing about 200 students (invidually) for 10 minutes each. that's hours and hours of interviews. just thinking about the upcoming week makes me want to drown myself in the pearl river (if the pollution doesn't kill me first). *sigh* at least it will all be over soon, right? we did make up some pretty cool jobs, though, for McKinsey, AIA, MARS, Go Licensing, Goldman Sachs, and IBM. I'd forgotten how much fun it could be to "shop" for jobs when you don't have to worry about getting one, just yet.
i guess you guys are all home for break now, right? i envy you!!! it doesn't even feel like christmas in these here parts--today is the first day of winter, and i'm wearing jeans and a short sleeved shirt. it feels like spring (not that there's anything wrong with that, mind, it's just that, well, christmas is supposed to be...colder...ish)
ha--i just reread this entry. all i've done is complain. bah. life is actually quite good, barring all of the complaints that i've listed:) bowling, while it didn't happen (she got the dates wrong), was not a total bust because i played shuffleboard for about an hour or so. i did quite well for a newbie! the game is oddly addicting and a lot of fun:) we're showing the long kiss goodnight for our movie, and it's gonna totally rock. do you guys remember that movie? ah, geena, where did you go? i'm plannin on hitting up this rock/punk/electronica bash on new year's eve (hopefully while in the pretty much wasted state), then i told dj zat during one of our random phone conversations that i'd see him at cave later that night. actually going remains to be seen.
