i went to "Chinese Whispers," a modern dance recital tonight in xinghai concert hall. I had been looking forward to this day for WEEKS, and it's finally here and gone. The show featured two amazing dancers and a piano player, and i got all of us second row seats, with a half price student discount! awesome, yeah? :)
i sat with melissa, meggie, and matt, and the show was amazing--i could see EVERY single muscle in their bodies, and they were long, lean, and moved like they weren't human. it was one of the most amazing, beautiful things that i have ever seen. i really want to yoga my way to having one of their bodies...or at least be able to dance the way that they do! they move in such a way that expresses a mood even with just one gesture.
the changsha elis are here this weekend! i am so happy that they came, and i know we're gonna have some good fun tomorrow:) i think our agenda includes climbing baiyun mountain! but first we're going to have dimsum with anthony. oy, everytime we have visitors, we always dimsum our lives away. i think that's probably the one thing i love best about guangzhou--the dimsum!
we KTVed for the first time in guangzhou--it was not nearly as nice as our changsha experience. for one, the room they stuck us in at first was just awful because we could hear everything that was going on in the outer sanctuary and the microphone had a crazy echo to it. because it's sage's bday today, we let him choose all the songs, so all of us who spoke chinese had a blast, but those of us who didn't weren't having such a hot time.
anyway, i'm exhausted but don't want to go to bed (yet again...what else is new?), but i guess it's time...
