The Bravery...and the most depressing day of the year

Apparently, a psychologist in the UK figured out that yesterday, January 24th, had to be the most depressing day of the year. He figured that such things as being broke after the holidays, already breaking your new years resolution, it being mid-winter, etc. led to this decision. Barrett and I were sort of puzzled by this whole "discovery". What kind of time do you have on your hands if you can sit down and pit the pro's and con's of every single day of the year against each other? Who is paying you to do this? And why has it made national news? The world is depressed enough already, lets not give the general public a reason to think its ok on this one day of the year.
So, I was laughing about this whole depression day theory, when it hit me. My reason to get wrapped up in it. My ex, Matt, wrote me a message through MySpace, saying he is showing up on my doorstep this weekend to get the last of his shit, with his girlfriend. It really freaked me out, then I got really pissed off, then super emotional talking to Barrett about it, then at some point I realized I should be happy for him. I have found happiness in my life with the situation I have with Barrett, so why shouldn't he with another person? I am still a little upset that he would think its appropriate to bring his new girlfriend to my house, but after thinking about it long and hard, I realized thats just who he is, a character flaw that I will have to rise above and not let depress me. I've worked too hard on my mental state to digress like I would have back then...

So anyways, how bout some good news??? I found some really awesome new music today and thats ALWAYS a big upper to me. This band called "The Bravery" came up on my launchcast radio, and it caught my ear, so I looked them up on myspace and listened to their songs. Hooked from the first song on....definitely. I found more of their tunes at thebravery.com . It just means I'll be spending that much more on music at Lou's when I go visit Barrett and Dawnalea tomorrow. Also, this band called Aireline got my attention today too. Really talented, super chill band. Look them up if you want something relaxing. So as of now, my shopping list for potential music to buy keeps getting longer and longer. I'm going to get myself in trouble for sure. I NEED some Nehemiah and The Bravery....I could replace my Black Dahlia Murder, get the old Interpol, and I've been listening to Moving Units a lot lately too, I'd like to own that.

HA HA T-minus 24 hours until I leave for my little trip to see Barrett and Dawnalea......I love those people to death....
