This is my first every try at fic. Any comment good or bad appreciated.
Thanks to kadiel_krieger and especially elizah_jane for all the help and encouragement.

Jasper had been wandering around for hours feeling lost and hopeless. If his heart wasn’t already dead, it would be dying right now. He had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. Had he made a mistake in leaving Maria? Regret danced around the edges of Jasper’s consciousness. He didn’t want to go back, but he didn’t know how to move forward either.

It started to rain as he wandered the deserted Philadelphia streets. Jasper didn’t mind the rain, but it wasn’t human to ignore the downpour so he ducked quietly into a small café on the corner of 5th and Main.

That’s when he saw her for the first time, sitting at the far end of the counter with her chin resting on her delicate hands. She was the light he hadn’t know he’d been searching for in the abyss that had become his existence. He knew instantly that she was like him, his eyes were fixated on her perfection. Anyone so angelic had to be more than human.

The energy radiating from her was electric. Her emotions crashed into him like waves, threatening to knock him over. He could feel the love, understanding, acceptance, and patience swirling around him. For so many years he had been surrounded by rage and bloodlust. Her hope was intoxicating.

He looked deep into her odd, golden eyes and knew that he would never be lost again. There he had found his home.
