drunken lullabies

That was one of the best nights ever. So much free food, booze and music. Apart from feeling like such an old bastard surrounded by 4 ft high 14 year old jailbait in stripey shirts...

FM would have to have one of the best live sounds i've heard in a long time, dave's an awesome frontman for such a quiet guy. He did the usual, "hey everybody lets boo george bush" which is pretty much shooting fish in a barrel, but even dedicated "if i ever leave this world alive" to Irish Paul (who got us in the gig) who (pretended) to act embarrassed.

It was fun to hangout backstage, and drink free ice cold coopers and guinnesses for a change (not the shitty extra dry tinnys the plebs have to drink!) Watched some of story of the year from up on the stage, they were ok but not really my thing. They couldn't even smash a guitar properly! But the kids seem to love em.

Talked to dave about his old metal band Fastway and lemmy from MH. After the gig we all minibussed it over to the guys' hotel, then managed to find a restaurant in the cross that was open at 1am for nachos and more beer. Then it pissed down rain. Got home about 730 this morning. Sweet!

Dave and bridget signing some shit for the kids that hung around after.

A blurry shot of SOTY's guitar rack. They did have some cool guitars.
