That Was The Weekend That Was

Friday -- It's a Friday in Lent, so naturally we went out for a fish-fry.  We went to Kosciuszko Polish House in Dunkirk. Review to come later today, I left my notes at home.  It's a social club for those of Polish descent.  I should join one of these days.  The secretary is Italian and has been a member for over three decades! :)  Try to get there as early as possible.  They start breaking down tables precisely at 8PM.  The one advantage to being late is that the bake sale went into half-price mode to clear out the table, so we got some bargains.

Saturday -- Errand running started early, we kept going because we had to pick up some things for my mother.  Having a relative in a nursing home is somewhere between having a relative in prison, and having a teen-ager in college.  "I need this and that and the other thing, and I gotta have this because everyone else has one in their dorm!" :)  Sugar-free hard candies are the universal currency and children's jigsaw puzzles are barterable.  We also drove up to the pier and thru Point Gratoit park.  We did not see the eagles, although we spotted what people say is their nest.  It looks like a squirrel nest and looks way to small for them.   At 9:26AM I was awake and dressed, which is a major accomplishment for me on a Saturday.  At 9:26 PM we were eating Pizza to celebrate the Pi moment of the century.  Quiz: If a pizza has a radius of Z and a uniform thickness of A, what is the volume? :)

Sunday: I cut UU services to work on the honey-dew list.  I got some major work finished on my Bunraku puppet.  I may even have it ready for the performing arts event in two weeks.  Yay!  I have fallen behind on the 40 days project, but that's not important.  It's important that you continue, not that you make the goal.

fish fry, polish traditions, birdwatching, nursing home, 40 bags, puppets, twtwtw
