Retirement

Those of you who follow this blog know that I manage about one book review a week.  After my father retired, he always told me, 'never retire, retirement is boring.'  I told him I couldn't conceive of it.  With "Winter Knife" hitting the area, work has been closed down for four days.  I've been outside a total of one hour, 45 min to shovel out the car, 15 min to gather more firewood for the fire place.  I haven't touched a book all week.  Cabin fever?  Never heard of it.  I've spent most of the time on 'honey-dew' projects.  I've prepped an insane amount of food, de-hydrating, pickling, canning, etc. I've barely touched a number of projects I want to do, scrolls to paint, puppets to build, candles to pour, the TV has only been on to confirm road and town closings.  I've got a freezer stocked with meat and veggies, a pantry stocked with canned goods (and TP).  I could literally not leave this house for a month.  Retirement?  Bring it on!

cabin fever, early retirement, snow
