Writer's Block: Words that you love and hate
What are your favorite and least favorite words? Any reasons why?
I recall in year 6 my teacher telling the class that the word 'got' is such a lazy thing to use. So far I have not come across a sentence in which the word 'got' is used that could not be replaced by another.
One of the things that it becomes is laziness, it is such a lazy use of a word that gets thrown in that means nothing.
I especially have gripes with the advertising that goes along the lines of "They've got me working day and night" Addition of extra words and complication of the whole damn sentence!
