While I sleep

i love my sleeping adventures.

The other day I found one of my dream journals. I thought I'd lost it beyond hope of finding it again. Flipping through pages, i realized I didn't write in it much. it's only a little journal / sketchbook and it spans about TEN YEARS. TEN. But I think I used one of my regular journals / everything books to jot down dreams, espeicially if I didn't remember it right away in the morning.

SO what's in the dream journal you ask? A lot of the time I'm pursued and hunted by Evil-doer government types because I Know Too Much. I have a few 'help me, I'm in danger' dreams, sometimes in combination with being hunted by the government. Then there are my 'saving the world from destruction' dreams. Now, I'm all for being rescued when the situation warrants, but I really like my vigilante / superhero dreams! Many of the other dreams seem to be people oriented. I even have a 'handsome actor' dream that's rated "R" (very strange since they're usually PG! or at least Mature!). It was a Nice Dream though it's not an actor that I'm particularly crazy about. I'm sure many young hormonal women would likely kill for a dream like that, but me? not so much.

Last night's excursions are under the cut:

Last night:
location: mountain valley? touristy holiday location. a resort?

There were hiking mountain trails, museums, historic buildings, etc. I have a vague sense of needing to do something ... needing to find someone. Perhaps showing someone around the city? Well, it was a small city and fireworks were about to start like they were every night. A woman suggested we climb to the top of the mountain which was a dangerous drive but coming home would be easy because we'd avoid all the traffic that happens down below (like symphony of fire in vancouver).

Part two: Calgary, I think. My cousin Mike, his wife, myself and someone else (?) from BC were restless with all the snow falling on the city. We piled into their minivan and headed out to see what movies were playing. The road was treacherous with winding switchbacks but I wasn't concerned when I lookedup to see Mike driving. He knew the roads.
I had a glass of water with me and as I watched, snow piled up around my legs and beside my glass of water. The van had slowly crashed into a snowbank and I was about to be buried. MIke didn't seem concerned until I reminded him that the snow was over my head. We scrambled out onto the roadside which was suddenly deserted. It was a bad neighbourhood (though it was farm country) and all the pay phones at the rest stop were trashed. we ended up heading towards a nearby house.

NOBODY wants to see any fringe theatre festival plays with me? less than 20 bucks for theatre! If nobody comes with me, you KNOW that the other theatre-goers in line will have to suffer my chatter. :)
