I just got off a conference call. The temp industry in general is doing so poorly that my employer has decided - as many others have - to cut costs. In the interest of saving as many jobs as possible, their decision was to reduce pay for everyone receiving over $40K/year by 5%.
Yes, I am affected by this. And yea, it doth verily sucketh.
The good news is that it's supposedly temporary and, because it's being done across the board to everyone making more $40K/year, it allows the company to keep a lot more people employed. I can't really argue with logic like that.
I am slightly bummed that this means that I'll be at a lower rate of pay than I was before leaving my last job for this one. But then, so's my boss.
