Hopefully a last day will lead to new beginnings... and other corny stuff :-P

So tomorrow is possibly my last day at Accutech. I say possibly because there is a chance that I'll work during Spring Break, but then again my hatred for Accutech might prevent that from happening. Yes, that's right. I hate my job. Before this lil break, I loved my job; I had the best job on the planet. I was working for Jen making $10/hour in a comfortable office. I got along with everybody, I did my work, I went home, I picked up my paycheck and I was satisfied. Then, Steve Turo stuck his nose where it didn't belong and ruined everything.

Steve Turo is the Vice President of Operations. Basically that means he manages the workers out in production to make sure that our products get made and sent to the customer in a timely fashion. Well, apparently Accutech is having quality issues. This means that our products are being sent back to us because they aren't being manufactured properly. But, this isn't a production problem. It's a Steve Turo problem, and here's why: When you demand your workers to produce faster and only motivate them by yelling at them when they don't, they will make poor products. It's as simple as that. When Steve Turd I mean Turo wasn't the VP of Operations, our products were fine; granted the workers in production had overtime pay, worked slower (SLIGHTLY), and cost the company more money. In the end though, I think it is totally worth it to go the non-Turo way and spend a little more. You get a little more, and it shows up in the quality of the products. When this happens, we don't have quality issues. But alas, Steve Turo is a piece of shit and all isn't well at Accutech. The quality issues are costing the company money despite all of Steve's changes.

You might be asking yourself how this affects me. Well, I must say that you are good at asking the right questions. Good job. And, that's exactly why I'm so mad: Steve Turo's duties as VP of Ops has NOTHING to do with me. I work for Jen, the marketing director. I deal with strictly marketing things, and Steve Turo has no right getting himself involved in my affairs at work. So what does Steve do exactly? Well, he tells Sue over at Human Resources to keep an eye on us kids because we're "unprofessional". Ok. I can deal with that comment. After all, there are five of us in two cubicles, things are going to get a little... hairy. We talk (WHILE we work, I might add), we laugh, we dilly-dally, but it's absolutely nothing to be concerned over, and he would know this if he were Jen. Jen is completely satisfied in the quality of our work. Often times we'll go up to her and say, "we're done," hours before she expects us to. She has said on countless occasions, "you finished that really quickly." Not only do we get things done quickly, we also get them done right. Another thing Steve does is asks us to perform menial tasks simply to make sure that we aren't just doing nothing. This REALLY offends me because I'm not a dumb kid; When I run out of projects, I'll go up to Jen and ask her for some. I'm not going to sit on my ass for the rest of the day and expect to get paid for it. To prove Steve wrong, Jen asked us to drumb up a list of all of the projects we completed over the last couple of weeks. After we looked at it, we were quite impressed with ourselves. Steve Turo would probably look at the list and immediately assume it was an embellishment or something. He's that much of a fuck face.

Well, I'm sick of complaining about Steve. I have the option of never having to deal with his bullshit again, and so tomorrow WILL be my last day at Accutech. During my "exit interview" with Sue, I will definitely make a comment about how workers work better when they're not under the watchful eye of upper management, especially when upper management has no right to be suspicious nor do they have the right to watch us because they're not in charge of us. Also, I'll be sure to point out that workers work better when they are encouraged and given positive reinforcement, not when they are motivated by fear. I will then tell Sue that I will never work for Accutech again because I was deeply insulted. I was insulted when I was told that I HAVE to take a lunch break and that I HAVE to leave by 5:00 (because certain people didn't want us staying too late). I know that might sound stupid to outsiders, but Andy, Laura, Sarah, Jamie, Jen, etc. know EXACTLY what I mean. I would rather make pizzas and sandwiches at my Dad's pizzeria than spend another minute at Accutech, but alas I still have tomorrow to live through...

Here's hoping I can keep my composure at work tomorrow. Lord knows I almost lost it today...
