home (sortof) at last
Just made it home from the Hospital. Docs and everyone said I needed to get my butt in there because my left side spleen area was insanely painful, couldn't swallow, hadn't peed in 72 hours (yeah yeah I know, gross), hadn't eaten more than a few nibbles of crackers and a bit of pudding since friday...yeah they made me go in. And man am i glad I did. 2 liters of Saline and 1 liter of a dextrose thingy meal, 4 cat scans, Demerol and darned good company (I LOVE SCOBY! HE ROCKS...even if he talks like he's my dad, he still freaking rocks...and my dad is pretty awesome, and so is michael) I feel quite a bit better. Yummy steroids to try and take down some of the spleen swelling (its really freaking big, I can't lift over 5lbs for.....6 WEEKS) made a huge difference, as did getting some sugars and such into my body. The waiting room sucked, it was really slow for no reason, even the nurses agreed. My O2 sats kept dropping, just short of "Oh shit get her on O2", which is around 88-90%, but we figured out it was mainly caused by the swellings being aggravated by being so darned dehydrated. So no I can't talk yet, but I am making progress on the whole swallowing thing :D
The downside? All that sugar energized me. Haven't slept in about 24 hours or so, but mad sugar high. *sigh* no Justice. None at all. But I'm all cozy on my couch at my parents, Brian-bear and comfy blankets...a BELL to ring if i need anything (the whole no talking thing kinda sucks..but im sure many of you would LOVE me that way!) and enough meds to make me look like a bonafide junkie.
Keep me in your prayers guys, I'm not out of the woods yet, but looking like I will be well on my way to better soon (thank God), and my boss rocks, he's letting me take whatever time I need to heal, I still have my job and the recommendation for ASM. So I can't complain at all. Now when can i eat popcorn..thats my biggest question ;-)
