It's a Husband Thing
It was a few hours before the start of the Gayo Daejun of SBS. Tons of K-Pop artists were already in the venue, and the others are still arriving. The members of the rock band CNBLUE were already comfortable in their waiting rooms. Their constant schedule always had them trying to grab as much rest as they can.
Well, it is true that they are exhausted, for their faces will scream it during the broadcast. But Yonghwa definitely wanted to get out. To get some "fresh air." His members had an idea where he would go to get such air, but they just kept their silence. For some reason, Yonghwa didn't even consider leaving the room. So they just stayed there: Yonghwa fiddling his phone, Jonghyun silently playing his guitar, Minhyuk looking for random videos, and Jungshin was trying a weird yoga pose in the corner.
There was a sudden knock on the door. It opened by itself. The four members inside the waiting room were surprised to see the person that came out of his way to see them.
No one was speaking at first. Even Yonghwa was stunned to see him. The person who entered the room was shyly smiling, his dimples flying all over the place.
Jungshin looked around. 'Looks like I have to take initiative this time,' he said.
He inhaled hard, then he greeted the person.
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOHH LEETEUK-SSI!!!"
The explosive greeting of Jungshin definitely worked its charm on everyone, as everyone laughed while saying, "Andwae, Jungshin! You weird person, you!"
The boys let the charismatic leader of Super Junior in. Leeteuk sat on one side of the table, while the four boys were squeezing on the other. They were definitely honored by the presence of such an accomplished sunbae in their midst.
The sight of them struggling to get comfortable on one side made Leeteuk chuckle.
"Please, let's be comfortable. One of you can sit beside me while the other one can sit at the head of the table."
They boys looked at each other, then to Leeteuk. Yonghwa cleared this throat, smiled, and replied, "We'll take you up on that offer, hyung."
Jonghyun sat beside Leeteuk. Minhyuk and Yonghwa sat together on the opposite side. Minhyuk was rubbing his eye. Jungshin was smugly smiling as he sat on the head of the table. The two youngest ones actually fought for the position of the head of the table, with Jungshin eventually winning by using his incredibly long hair as a whip to Minhyuk's face.
"So," Jonghyun started. "Now that we're all settled down, what brought you to our waiting room, hyung?"
Leeteuk smiled. They all noticed that his ears turned red.
"I actually want to talk about something with Yonghwa. But since you guys," he pertained to the members, "have seen it and lived with him while he was doing it, I guess you too can help."
'Leeteuk, the charming leader of the most popular all-male K-Pop group, is in our room going all bubbly?' Yonghwa wondered. Then things suddenly connected, and he smiled a knowing smile. He looked at his members. It seems that his members also quickly understood what he meant. Jonghyun was smiling. Minhyuk's eyes turned into slanted lines. Jungshin was giggling like a girl.
"Ah, Leeteuk-ssi, so it's about that," Yonghwa said, his smile already reaching his ears.
"Yes," he softly answered.
"Do you love her?"
"Wae?"
"Aaaaaah, hyung, that's a good one!" Jungshin praised. Minhyuk nodded in agreement. Jonghyun just kept on smiling.
"Aish, Yonghwa," Leeteuk joked.
Silence filled them. It wasn't awkward. It wasn't comforting either. It was silence waiting for either Yonghwa or Leeteuk to start the conversation at hand.
"Hyung," Yonghwa started.
"Yes?" Leeteuk answered.
"What you're experiencing now is extremely difficult."
Everyone inside the room quickly understood what he meant. Everyone nodded in agreement. Even Leeteuk found the logic in his words.
"I also had the same problem: I can't fall in love with her in public, as it will destroy my band. Of course, I want to be happy, but some things are meant to be prioritized, and my dreams will always go first. I worked hard for this. We worked hard to get to where we are."
Everyone kept on nodding.
"But it is nice to know that somewhere in this world is that someone who can make me smile with a few words. Someone who can remove my exhaustion better than any hours of sleep with a simple smile. Someone who can make me write songs just by being inside my head. I am blessed that she is so near. I am also cursed because she is so far away. But I am willing to wait. I told her that I would wait."
"Oh! When did you say that?" Leeteuk curiously asked.
"You didn't tell us that!" Minhyuk whined.
"So unfair, hyung," Jonghyun said with a smile.
"I am so telling manager hyung," Jungshin teased.
"Yah! I wanted my privacy, okay?" Yonghwa retorted.
Everybody laughed.
"I said it to her in that last letter I gave her," he said, sighing.
This time, comfortable silence filled the room.
"So," Yonghwa started, leaning towards the Super Junior leader. "Do you know now what to do?"
"Of course," Leeteuk cheerfully answered, his dimples already digging deep into his face. "I needed confirmation from someone who has the same experiences as mine."
"Glad that I could help," Yonghwa said. He stood up, and offered his hand. Leeteuk obliged.
"Hyung," Yonghwa started, still shaking his hand.
"Hmm?" he answered.
"Don't tell this to anyone."
"Haha, I won't. Kyuhyun might enjoy this, though."
"HYUNG!"
"Haha, I'm joking, I'm joking. I won't tell a soul. Also, be sure that no one knows about my feelings for Sora."
"Of course, hyung," he replied. He turned to his dongsaengs.
"Now, everyone in this room," he declared, "don't you dare share whatever we talked about to anyone else. Understood?"
"Yes~" the boys answered.
"Of course we won't tell! Your secrets are safe with us!"
Everyone froze. They looked at the door they forgot to close.
Hyoyeon, Tiffany and Taeyeon were there. They were all smiling.
"So that's what the letter contained," Tiffany started.
Yonghwa was starting to swallow his saliva.
"Ayy, Leeteuk-oppa! You're really enjoying this!" Taeyeon teased.
Leeteuk's dimples disappeared.
"Anneyong, Avatar!" Hyoyeon greeted.
Jungshin managed a weak smile.
The three girls, smiled, then ran off.
"YAH! HYUNNIEEEEEEEE!" Hyoyeon screeched.
"Who has Kang Sora's number?" Taeyeon asked.
"Let's ask manager oppa," Tiffany replied.
Yonghwa and Leeteuk chased after them.
The three that were left behind laughed.
Then all out of nowhere, Jonghyun stated, "Don't you think Tiffany is beautiful?"
The two young ones looked at each other.
Jungshin approached Jonghyun.
"Hyung, do you want me to go out there and call Tiffany here, too?"
Note: I am watching the Leeteuk-Kang Sora couple now, and I have to say that I love them. They have that same appeal that Yongseo has, but nothing beats the fluttery feelings I get when I watch Yongseo. Teukso episodes don't make me smile as much as Yongseo's. But it is still good. Teukso fighting! YONGSEO FIGHTING! :D
