This wasn't my first earthquake. Don't know how being in the basement (and sitting down) made it different from what others felt, but what I thought at first was that my equilibrium was acting up! It wasn't until 5 or 10 minutes later that I heard what it was. Just hope that the folks I know in DC are all fine ...
