One of the worst-kept secrets, the Xbox 360 "Elite" has finally been announced. I originally had no hesitations about upgrading, but since it doesn't use the newer, smaller, cooler-running chips; that I only have a 1080i TV (thus no problems with component video); and that I don't really want a black 360 made me rethink my decision. Thankfully the 120gb hard drive by itself is $180, so maybe there'll be a decent deal after employee discount, but then why half-ass the upgrade? My Best Buy replacement plan will be good until December, so perhaps they'll integrate improved chips and a white casing and perhaps drop the price a couple of ten's before my unit has an "accident."
