Note: Everything between these two lines was written last week.

1 year of photos on my 512MB card. 608 shots. Jan 27, '06 to Jan 27, '07. Full card. Time to delete them to make room. Obviously this shows I've not taken many photos during this past year.
Got a free copy of Office 2007 Professional Thursday by sitting through four hours of Microsoft talk about stuff. Worth $500. Speaking of time travel, today we opened up a Vista computer to use in the Precinct. It's a visitor from the far off time of Tuesday.
Speaking of...work. 28+ hours scheduled next week. WTF?

Nifty Wii mod to move the controller ports to the front. ]
I spent over seven hours today setting up people's new computers and dealing with growing pains of Vista and anti-spyware/anti-virus software. In short, if you're getting a Vista machine, either get MS OneCare or download the Vista-compatible versions of your protection software of choice direct from the developer. The current retail boxes aren't compatible without jumping through annoying hoops. I hate that all the settings are tucked away from all the computer illiterate, but fortunately Vista's handy-dandy instant search box makes launching some important programs and Control Panel applets only a second and a couple of keyboard strokes away. Currently my killer app of the new OS. I also ran into a rather unintuitive dialog box dealing with an uncooperative HP laptop. For some reason or another it was unable to scan for wireless networks, so I had to poke around for whatever wireless configuration utilities it might have had. I found one to try to connect to a wireless router specifically, but since it wanted to set up security, it asked what brand of router was being used. Not knowing what we use, I selected Other, which brought me to an error screen. The button to rewind to the previous selection screen read: Back >>. If why that's odd doesn't make sense to you, understand that the button to continue reads: Next >>.
Surely I can't be the only thinking that the greatest good to come of this and the past Super Bowl is enlightening the greater public of the meaning of the roman numeral L.
Hmm, they already have the Ferarri license, and now they've signed on with Lamborghini. Asus is suddenly in the running for consideration for my new laptop whenever I need to get one to actually use. [
Photographs ] Looks like you can get either carbon fiber or Lambo yellow. But how about yellow-painted carbon fiber?! Check out the photos of the fans. They have the Lambo rim design for the fan guard.
