Oh my fuck, it's a long walk from the parking garage to the Arena now that we have to weave around the construction and all the way to the rear of the building. It's really, really cool how big the new Arena is. I always felt the current one is absolutely tiny, and I could never figure out how the hell they can hold both a sporting event and an audience in that small space.
I had originally planned my waiting time to be based on talk on the UCF LJ-comm, and it seems no one was hyping up the show. I decided not to take the risk and arrived at about 5:30 after all that walking, finding myself somewhere between 15-20th in line. At a point, Jake came by and joined me. I had purchased a small container of gummi worms from WalMart to snack 'n share. We'd only gone through less than half before it was time to go in. On one hand, it only cost me 94-cents. On the other hand, that was still plenty of gummi worms left. Hopefully security girl didn't just throw them away.
Sixth row, center section. Nice.
Alonzo Bodden, though keeping my attention, played out pretty predictable and tired racial jokes.
Bob Saget is amazingly quick-witted. Played with the audience, remembered names of people he teased, totally improvised a few ditties and songs. It was absolutely dynamic and captivating. I'm sure there was a well practiced structure behind his act, but he was able to go in and out of tangents conversing with the audience and bring himself right back to where he left off, even integrating new information garnered from the interactions. Brilliant! Dirty, dirty, but brilliant. And next time you see Dave Coulier, taunt him for shaving his balls.
As a bonus, I was able to park in the row in the parking garage that became coned off. As such, there was no insane snaking line of cars making it impossible to back out, and I was able to escape off campus with a minimal headaches.
