The Fast & The Furious Franchise collection DVD box set has the first two movies, a bonus disc, and a ticket to see the new Tokyo Drift installment. While at WalMart picking up a couple more work shirts, I also picked up this set, stood in the ludicrously long lines, and high-tailed it to the movie theater. Unfortunately the last showing had already sold out. Tomorrow night, then. (Janel says that earlier they had some sort of car showcase outside the theater.)
I came home and watched the little behind-the-scenes feature for the new movie, and discovered no cameos from Justin Lin's prior films. However, Leonardo Nam (aka Roy, the stoner asian from The Perfect Score) is in the new movie. Also seems the eldest Taylor son from Home Improvement is in the movie, too. Roger Ebert gave the movie a favorable review, but the Ebert & Roepor podcast for this weekend isn't up yet, so I couldn't hear what they had to say about it. Oddly, if you look at RottenTomatoes, professional film critics seem to be giving the movie better reviews than the internet press. Not great reviews, of course, but good for what it is, a movie about driving.
Browsing IGN Cars, I say this new car with a "panoramic" front windshield. Thought it doesn't eliminate the A-pillars I so hate, I think it could really be a breath of fresh air to drive. [
