I blame my problems on drugs

It was a week after my interview that I called Target to follow up on it. I went in that day to do another interview with a different manager and was offered a position. I took my drug test, and today called back because another week had passed. When I went to the lab, the receptionist wrote my name as first-last-mother's maiden...no last name. I asked the lab guy numerous times if this would be a problem, and he always kind of indicated that it would not. Well, that's not what's causing the hold-up. Apparently everyone Target sent in that day has had their results kinda lost in limbo or screwed up or something. The HR woman says she calls the lab every day to bug them for results and she thanked me for calling to follow up. I just want to go to orientation and start working to rake in the monies.

Before this afternoon, my primary rush was due to Best Buy's big feature sale this week. $1000 nets you a 30" widescreen CRT Samsung SlimFit HDTV, premium Xbox 360, extra wireless controller, and a game. Sell the 360 stuff, and that's half off the whole shebang. And 18 months no interest on the Best Buy card. That amount can be paid off in no time, no problem, even with 20 hrs/wk. With Jess moving out soon, the living room could use a replacement TV. Although I understand my parents concern about not getting nice, expensive things that other people will use and potentially get stolen, I just can't get over what a ridiculously good deal this is.

So what happened this afternoon? DeepDiscountDVD.com's semi-annual 20%. It kinda snuck up on everyone all of a sudden, even though we know it comes every June and November. I dropped at least a Franklin on the sale each go 'round. But I'm really drained right now. I don't even want to spring for a new web host just yet.

sale, job, target, drugs, money
