Silent Hill
It was...uh, confusing? But so beautiful to look at. I spent the whole movie dissecting all the CG effects, especially paying attention to how they dodged the problem of when particle effects hit the ground (ever notice the falling ash doesn't make contact with anything?) and shock when they decided to show logs from a pyre tumbling into each other as they fall into a pit (that kind of physics calculation is just hardcore bad news).
